Hey! I’m Jon, the guy behind the keyboard and coffee mug here at The Parenting Job. I am father to an aspiring pirate named Amelia, and an extremely bright young man named Tanis. My life partner is named Natalie. Together we form a tornado moving from room to room leaving ruble in our wake! We go to the gym, do yoga, home school, and other stuff.
We love to be together as a family. We are best friends and do everything together. That isn’t just internet talk either. You know the “internet” version of peoples lives that look all fantastic but really they are a ball of tears and sadness. Idk if that’s a thing or not, but it made sense when I wrote it.
We definitely aren’t perfect, and you’ll for sure see that. We are so unperfect we can’t hide it even on the internet lol. But even still, we really are best friends, and there isn’t anyone I would rather spend time with. And we spend plenty of time together too, with home schooling you can’t help it.
But that is the great thing about our little group, we spend that much time together and still love it!
I used to read or watch TV after the kidos went to bed and I felt like I had more in the tank and I was looking for something else, but I never thought I would have a blog! What…. I am a dude, what am I going to do with a blog. Every blog you see is about fashion and lifestyle.
So I asked myself what am I passionate about that I could write about. Two things came to mind. Being a father, and fitness. My two F’s. Those things don’t go much together so I am trying to work them separately, but it is the only thing I could think of. Being a father is the most important to me so I am starting there.
That brought me to this point, right here and now, writing this about me page on a blog with the topic of being a parent.
This may or may not be a successful blog, and I may never turn it into a full time job, but I can continue working at it. It has been fun so far, and I hope that comes across with the content and verbiage that I present for your review. I will write some serious content, but I hope to keep the social light and fun. But being a parent is serious business and sometimes requires a little direct talk.
Thanks for checking out the about us page in our home on the internet, and taking the time to read this. Our goal is to help make parenting more fun and enjoyable. We want to turn The Parenting Job into a place to find helpful tips, humor, and advice for parents of all types. We hope you find value and encouragement here, and hopefully bring some additional quality into what is the hardest, but most rewarding, job out there. It is the most important work you can do!
