We were invited to the kids cousin’s birthday party on Saturday, and it was held at Liberty Lake Park in South Bedford County, Virginia. We had not been there even though we don’t live very far away, due to the fact that we have some other local parks available to us that we like to frequent.
Boy we were missing the boat. That place was great.
It had a small pond for fishing, that was completely packed! Several tennis, and basketball courts as soon as you enter the complex. Play ground areas were spread out through the landscape as well. There were numerous baseball diamonds, some even in use by little league teams of various age groups.
One of the cooler, and more unique features, was the skate park. They even had a trail lined with handrails for the handicapped. That was a great add on to help those with disabilities get out and enjoy nature, where a lot of times they can’t. In total it was around 60 acres of goodness. Continue Reading
